Description

This module is designed for licensed chiropractors and chiropractic students aiming to refine their adjusting skills based on a neurological model of care. Taught using ethnographic teaching methods developed by Prof. Frederick R. Carrick and featured in the PBS documentary Waking Up the Brain: Amazing Adjustments, this course emphasizes high-level manual techniques without the use of instrumentation or anesthesia. Participants will develop practical skills in osseous spinal and extremity adjustments, guided by patient-specific neurodiagnostic insights. The course blends foundational neuroscience with real-time clinical application to enhance human function and reduce suffering.

What you’ll learn:

  • Identify indications and contraindications for spinal and extremity joint manipulation.
  • Adapt adjusting techniques to match both doctor and patient body types and neurological profiles.
  • Utilize neurodiagnostic signs to guide precise and effective therapy applications.
  • Perform head and eye integrated manipulations for spine and extremities.
  • Deliver coupled manipulations to the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and SI joints.
  • Apply adjustments to the TMJ, ribs, shoulder, clavicle, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and foot.
