Description

This 15-hour course explores the structure, function, and clinical relevance of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), including its sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions. Scholars will study the neuroanatomy, neurotransmitters, and central regulation of autonomic pathways and learn how dysfunction leads to conditions such as dysautonomia, Horner’s syndrome, Raynaud’s phenomenon, and CRPS. The course emphasizes diagnostic techniques, physical exams, and rehab strategies to improve autonomic regulation and patient outcomes.

What you’ll learn:

  • Understand the clinical anatomy and physiology of sympathetic and parasympathetic systems.
  • Identify disorders related to ANS dysfunction, such as dysautonomia and Horner’s syndrome.
  • Perform diagnostic exams including pupillary response, HR, SpO₂, and capillary refill
  • Apply rehab techniques to restore autonomic balance and support systemic regulation.
