Description

This 15-hour course provides a comprehensive examination of the cerebellum—its structure, physiology, and expanding role beyond movement coordination. Participants will study cerebellar pathways, functional zones, and their influence on motor control, balance, cognition, and eye movements. The course explores inherited, acquired, and degenerative cerebellar conditions, with emphasis on clinical diagnosis, neurological exams, and rehabilitation applications such as targeted movement therapy, balance training, and vestibular integration.

What you’ll learn:

  • Understand the anatomy, layers, nuclei, and afferent/efferent pathways of the cerebellum.
  • Identify cerebellar disorders and differentiate tremor types through clinical examination.
  • Assess eye movements, coordination, balance, and cerebellar signs in patients.
  • Apply evidence-based rehab strategies targeting cerebellar zones and functions.

Cerebellum

This module explores the integrated structure and function of the cerebellum from its classical view in coordinating movement to its more progressive functional role in higher cognitive processing. Common clinical disorders will be discussed.
