Description

This 15-hour course is the sixth and final module in the Carrick Institute’s Dysautonomia series. It brings together key clinical syndromes and case presentations for advanced understanding and application. Participants will review and deepen their diagnostic and treatment skills across a broad range of autonomic conditions including POTS, orthostatic hypotension and hypertension, autonomic failure, overactivity, cerebral autoregulatory dysfunction, small fiber neuropathy, and dysautonomia secondary to TBI, Parkinson’s, and other neurodegenerative diseases. Emphasis is placed on advanced case evaluation, testing strategies (e.g., skin biopsy, QSART), and integrated neurorehabilitation techniques.

What you’ll learn:

  • Diagnose and subtype dysautonomia presentations including POTS, IST, and syncope.
  • Differentiate between autonomic overactivity, underactivity, and paroxysmal presentations.
  • Evaluate small fiber neuropathy using skin biopsy and sudomotor testing methods.
  • Apply advanced treatment protocols for dysautonomia in cases of TBI, Parkinson’s, and gastrointestinal involvement.
