Course Description
Migraine disorders are complex neurological conditions that affect millions of individuals worldwide. In this ISCN lecture, Dr. Adam Harcourt explores the neurological mechanisms underlying migraine and a broadened spectrum of strategies used for treatment and management. The session examines how neural pathways, sensory processing, and neurochemical signaling contribute to migraine symptoms such as head pain, sensitivity to light and sound, and cognitive disruption. Participants will learn about common triggers and risk factors that may influence migraine episodes, as well as diagnostic approaches used to evaluate headache disorders. The lecture also reviews a range of therapeutic strategies used to manage migraine symptoms and improve patient outcomes. By examining both physiological mechanisms and clinical care approaches, this session highlights evolving strategies aimed at improving the treatment and long-term management of migraine disorders.
What you’ll learn:
- Understand neurological mechanisms underlying migraine disorders.
- Explore triggers and risk factors associated with migraine.
- Examine clinical methods used to diagnose headache disorders.
- Learn treatment strategies used in migraine management.
- Review emerging research in migraine therapies.
