Kaplan explores the emerging field of nutritional mental health and the growing body of empirical evidence connecting diet and nutrient status with mental health outcomes. Participants will examine how vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients support brain metabolism and neurotransmitter activity. The lecture reviews clinical and population studies that investigate the potential influence of nutrition on mood disorders, cognitive performance, and behavioral health.
