Course Description

This 25-hour course provides clinicians with the tools and frameworks to accurately examine neurodevelopment in newborns, toddlers, and adolescents. Participants will learn to differentiate neurotypical development from atypical and normal variants, using milestone tracking, primitive reflex assessment, parent questionnaires, and neuropsychological testing. The course also covers cognitive and academic achievement testing, with emphasis on test reliability, sensitivity, and clinical interpretation to inform intervention planning.

What you’ll learn:

  • Perform age-appropriate developmental exams across infancy, early childhood, and adolescence.
  • Distinguish neurotypical vs. non-neurotypical development using milestones and parent input.
  • Utilize primitive reflex testing and parent questionnaires as diagnostic tools.
  • Interpret cognitive and achievement testing to support early intervention and treatment planning.
