Description

This 25-hour course, taught by Dr. David Clark, provides clinicians with an in-depth, functional neurology approach to recognizing, diagnosing, and managing cardiometabolic disorders. Participants will explore the physiology and neurochemistry behind cardiac and metabolic dysfunction, including hypertension, atherosclerosis, insulin resistance, stroke, neurodegeneration, and their impact on brain health. The course emphasizes clinical applications such as laboratory analysis, biomarker interpretation, supplementation strategies, diet therapy, and functional rehabilitation methods like vagus nerve stimulation. This course also fulfills annual educational requirements for ACNB/ACFN diplomates and prepares candidates for the FABNN certification.

What you’ll learn:

  • Understand normal and pathological cardiometabolic and neurovascular physiology.
  • Identify clinical patterns associated with cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and brain dysfunction.
  • Interpret laboratory biomarkers related to cardiometabolic and neuroinflammatory risk.
  • Apply evidence-based interventions using diet therapy, supplementation, exercise, and functional neuromodulation.
