Course Description

Complex concussion presentations challenge traditional diagnostic approaches, leaving clinicians uncertain about proper assessment protocols. This course transforms your evaluation capabilities through systematic functional neurology examination techniques that identify subtle neurological disruptions missed by conventional screening tools. Dr. Antonucci guides you through evidence-based assessment protocols spanning autonomic function, cognitive domains, oculomotor control, vestibular integrity, and somatic function. Learn to differentiate concussion from other conditions, phenotype presentations accurately, and create targeted treatment strategies. Master bedside examination skills using minimal equipment while achieving diagnostic precision that enhances patient outcomes and professional confidence.

What you’ll learn:

• Master systematic concussion evaluation protocols using functional neurology principles

• Perform comprehensive multi-domain neurological examinations with basic equipment

• Apply 2023 ACRM diagnostic criteria for accurate concussion identification and classification

• Differentiate concussion phenotypes for targeted treatment planning and prognosis

• Execute advanced autonomic, cognitive, and oculomotor assessment procedures effectively

More About This Course

Concussion diagnosis has evolved beyond simple symptom checklists, yet many clinicians lack the advanced assessment skills needed for accurate evaluation and effective management. This comprehensive 70-credit hour course addresses the critical gap between basic concussion screening and sophisticated neurological assessment through functional neurology principles.

The course centers on Dr. Matthew Antonucci's systematic approach to concussion evaluation, integrating the latest 2023 ACRM diagnostic criteria with practical bedside examination techniques. Students master multi-domain assessment protocols examining autonomic function, cognitive performance, oculomotor control, vestibular integrity, and somatic function using evidence-based testing procedures that require minimal specialized equipment.

This intensive program is designed for licensed healthcare clinicians seeking to elevate their concussion management capabilities beyond standard protocols. Physical therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers, and physicians will gain advanced diagnostic skills essential for distinguishing concussion from other neurological conditions while developing phenotype-specific treatment approaches.

Dr. Antonucci, a distinguished chiropractic neurologist with extensive concussion research and clinical experience, leads participants through hands-on examination procedures, case studies, and real-world application scenarios. The curriculum emphasizes practical implementation, ensuring clinicians can immediately integrate these advanced assessment techniques into their practice with confidence and precision.
