Course Description
This 15-hour course provides a comprehensive exploration of the neurological mechanisms behind chronic head and facial pain. Participants will study the central and peripheral pathways involved in pain generation and modulation, with a focus on headaches, trigeminal neuralgia, TMJ dysfunction, and facial neuropathies. The course emphasizes diagnostic techniques—including cranial nerve exams, autonomic assessment, and imaging—and offers brain-based rehabilitation strategies such as vestibular therapy, nerve decompression, and sensory retraining to reduce chronic pain and restore function.
What you’ll learn:
- Understand the neuroanatomy of pain pathways specific to head and face pain.
- Identify and differentiate headache syndromes and facial pain conditions.
- Perform neurological and cranial nerve exams to assess pain generators.
- Apply rehab techniques such as brain-based therapies, autonomic modulation, and sensory retraining.
