Course Description
Anxiety Disorders are complex conditions influenced by both neural and cognitive processes. In this session, Tomas Stangel explores a modern neuroscience perspective on anxiety. Participants will examine how brain networks, including limbic and cortical systems, interact to regulate emotional responses. The lecture reviews how stress physiology and cognitive processes contribute to the development and persistence of anxiety symptoms. By understanding how the brain processes fear and emotional information, clinicians can develop more targeted approaches to assessment and management. This session highlights the integration of neuroscience and behavioral insights in understanding anxiety.
What you’ll learn:
- Understand the neurological basis of anxiety.
- Recognize brain networks involved in emotional regulation.
- Identify how stress responses influence anxiety symptoms.
- Explore cognitive factors that shape emotional experience.
- Apply neuroscience-informed approaches to managing anxiety.
