Description
This 25-hour advanced course, taught by Professor Frederick Carrick, provides clinicians with in-depth training on the diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation of complex movement disorders. Building upon foundational skills, participants will learn to develop and customize treatment strategies for conditions such as ataxia, dystonia, dyskinesia, Parkinsonism, Huntington’s disease, progressive supranuclear palsy, restless legs syndrome, Rett syndrome, Sydenham’s chorea, tics, and Tourette’s syndrome. Emphasis is placed on understanding motor and non-motor manifestations, lesion localization, pharmacological considerations, and the application of advanced functional neurological rehabilitation strategies.

- Develop advanced treatment applications for a wide range of movement disorders including dystonia, tremor, and ataxia.
- Differentiate between movement disorders based on clinical manifestations and pathophysiology.
- Recognize and manage cognitive, behavioral, and motor symptoms associated with movement disorders.
