Course Description
This 25-hour course focuses on the advanced clinical applications of diagnosing and treating movement disorders through a functional neurology lens. Participants will learn how to assess and integrate therapies based on the dysfunction of specific neurological structures including the cerebellum, neostriatum, frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, brainstem regions, spinal cord, and basal ganglia components like the substantia nigra. Topics include the use of eye movement analysis (saccades and pursuits), vestibular-ocular responses, spinal reflex strategies, and manipulation-based treatments. Designed for clinicians ready to apply anatomical localization to real-world treatment protocols.
What you’ll learn:
- Perform clinical assessments for saccadic, pursuit, and vestibulo-ocular movement dysfunctions.
- Apply structure-specific rehabilitation strategies targeting cerebellar, neostriatal, cortical, and brainstem dysfunction.
- Integrate manipulation, eye movement therapies, and neurorehabilitation protocols into movement disorder care.
- Design patient-specific treatment plans based on anatomical lesion localization.
