Course Description
Movement disorders present complex challenges for both clinicians and patients. In this session, Christa Hubbard examines neurological conditions that affect motor control while reflecting on the unique perspective that emerges when a physician becomes a patient. The lecture explores how movement disorders manifest through tremor, rigidity, abnormal posture, and impaired coordination. Participants will examine how clinicians evaluate these conditions through neurological examination and diagnostic reasoning. By sharing personal insights alongside clinical knowledge, this session highlights how lived experience can deepen understanding of patient challenges and recovery processes. The presentation emphasizes the importance of empathy, resilience, and patient-centered care when managing complex neurological conditions. This course encourages clinicians to consider both scientific and human perspectives when approaching neurological illness.
