Description

This 25-hour accredited course is designed to build foundational expertise in the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system. Scholars will explore spatial representation, gravity’s impact on neurophysiology, and reference frame integration. Detailed lectures cover the vestibular end organs, thalamus, cortical processing, and vestibulo-autonomic pathways. The course emphasizes neuroplasticity and vestibular contributions to posture, balance, vision, and daily function. Approved by the ACNB for Specialty Certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation.

What you’ll learn:

  • Understand the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system, including the ear, nuclei, and cortical regions.
  • Explore how gravity, spatial representation, and reference frames influence neurophysiology.
  • Identify the functional roles of the VOR, vestibulospinal, and vestibuloautonomic systems.
  • Apply foundational vestibular knowledge to support diagnostics and neurorehabilitation planning.
