Description
This 15-hour neuroscience research update course equips clinicians with the tools to critically evaluate and apply emerging research to clinical practice. Led by Dr. Mike Nelson, participants will explore recent studies on psychedelics, ketogenic diets, omega-3s, strength training, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), creatine, cannabis, and more—using the Carrick Institute’s 8-step analysis model. Each topic is reviewed through research summaries, guided lectures, and quizzes, with an emphasis on translating complex data into functional, evidence-informed care.
What you’ll learn:
- Apply the Carrick 8-step model to interpret neuroscience research critically and clinically.
- Analyze studies on neuroplasticity, BDNF, and the impact of psychedelics on neurological health.
- Evaluate clinical relevance of nutrition and supplementation (e.g., creatine, omega-3s, astaxanthin).
- Translate findings from clinical trials involving cannabis, DMT, psilocybin, and MDMA into care strategies.
- Understand the neurological effects of resistance training, sleep quality, and cognitive performance in unique populations.
