Course Description
This 2-credit course is designed for practitioners looking to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes when treating dizziness and vertigo. Participants will learn how to differentiate between dizziness and vertigo, review the neuroanatomy involved, and master key aspects of intake and neurological examination specific to this patient population. Emphasis is placed on identifying neurological red flags, including signs of stroke, tumors, and acoustic neuromas. This course fulfills NCCAOM requirements and Florida’s medical errors education standards.
What you’ll learn:
- Differentiate between dizziness and vertigo based on clinical presentation.
- Understand the neuroanatomy underlying dizziness and vertigo symptoms.
- Perform focused intake interviews and neurological exams for patients with balance disorders.
