The Most Current Consensus Guidelines and Recommendations for Concussion

#1# hrs
Live
Livestream
On-Demand

This flipped-classroom module introduces foundational concepts in the clinical neuroscience of concussion and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Delivered through self-paced online learning, participants will explore updated consensus guidelines on the definition, causes, and pathophysiology of mTBI, along with acute management protocols and treatment strategies. This primer prepares clinicians for deeper exploration of concussion rehabilitation in future modules by reinforcing critical knowledge and clinical decision-making for early-stage concussion care.

1

Evaluation of the Intangible Effects of Concussion

#1# hrs
Live
Livestream
On-Demand

This self-paced online module explores the often-overlooked “intangible” effects of concussion, with a focus on outcome assessments, mental status, and symptom burden. Participants will learn how to collect, interpret, and integrate baseline brain health data, phenotyping information, and subjective reports to inform prognosis and treatment. Topics include sleep, autonomic function, affect, mental toughness, and health-related quality of life. Clinicians will also gain access to a curated library of validated outcome measures and tools for use in practice.

1

Quantifying Concussion-Related Brain Function at the Bedside

#1# hrs
Live
Livestream
On-Demand

This self-paced module focuses on bedside methods for evaluating concussion-related brain dysfunction. Participants will explore a comparative analysis of modern concussion screening and diagnostic tools and learn how to perform detailed neurologic exams that assess sensory, motor, cognitive, and autonomic function. Emphasis is placed on interpreting vital signs, evaluating graviception, and integrating embryological insights into practical clinical assessments. This module equips clinicians with hands-on strategies to bridge the gap between symptom recognition and measurable neurologic deficits.

1

Creating and Performing an Evidence-Based Baseline/Concussion Examination

#1# hrs
Live
Livestream
On-Demand

This training is a hands-on, immersive course focused on developing clinical proficiency in conducting comprehensive, evidence-based concussion and baseline neurological examinations. You will be watching a recording of this hands-on module. Participants will act as both doctor and patient, gaining firsthand experience with the full suite of bedside assessments introduced in Chapter 3. Scholars will leave with practical skills and the results of their own personal brain health baseline evaluation. Attendees should bring the recommended tools and wear loose-fitting clothing suitable for examination and movement.

1

Management of Concussion Sequela

#1# hrs
Live
Livestream
On-Demand

This upcoming online module explores the real-world management of concussion sequela, with a focus on clinical efficiency and functional recovery. Participants will learn how to apply evidence-supported therapeutic strategies across systems affected by mTBI—cardiovascular, vestibular, musculoskeletal, visual, and cognitive. You'll also gain tools for crafting high-quality reports of findings, navigating return-to-activity protocols, and expanding the reach of your concussion practice. The module introduces considerations for moderate-to-severe brain injuries and opens the discussion on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
