Course Description
Neurological care often divides cases into structural "hardware" damage or everything else. The latter-brain "software" problems-are harder to spot but just as impactful. They involve learned or maladaptive neural programs, faulty integration between networks, or disrupted processing loops that change how the brain controls the body. The Functional Neurology Excellence Bundle trains you to see and solve these problems. You'll learn how the brain forms and adapts, how to examine for subtle dysfunction, and how to design interventions that retrain rather than repair. Each module advances your ability to read the brain's operational code-from the earliest sensory inputs to high-level executive functions-and rewrite it when it's working against the patient. By the end, you'll have the confidence to observe, examine, understand, and restore brain function when the issue isn't broken tissue but broken programming-transforming your ability to help patients across disciplines.
What you’ll learn:
- Distinguish between structural damage and functional "software" problems in the brain.
- Trace maladaptive patterns from sensory input to motor output across neural systems.
- Perform precise, systems-based examinations to localize functional deficits.
- Design interventions that retrain neural networks and restore adaptive processing.
- Integrate findings into a repeatable process for observation, diagnosis, and rehabilitation.
Components
Educational Syllabus
- Functional Neurology Essentials (Flipped Classroom, Live, and Day 5)
- This module covers embryological development of the nervous system, comparing columnar and prosomeric models. It reviews nerve function in metabolic disorders and explores sensory input’s role in cortical projections and neurological integrity.
