About

Guido Pagnacco

Dr. Guido Pagnacco is a biomechanical engineer and researcher with extensive experience in human movement science, neurophysiology, and medical technology development. He graduated summa cum laude from Politecnico di Torino (Italy) with a combined B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, where his thesis focused on numerical modeling of driver–vehicle systems during impact. He later completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at The Ohio State University, with research centered on vertical ground reaction forces in the assessment of human postural balance.

During his time at Ohio State, Dr. Pagnacco also served as Technical Director of the Human Performance Laboratory within the College of Medicine, contributing to research in biomechanics and rehabilitation sciences. He is currently Managing Partner of Vestibular Technologies, LLC, and holds academic appointments as Adjunct Professor at the University of Wyoming and Professor of Biomechanical Engineering at the Carrick Institute.

Dr. Pagnacco has also served as a visiting professor at the Università degli Studi di Udine and remains actively involved in professional and academic initiatives. He is a member of the Board of Examiners for the American Board of Vestibular Rehabilitation and serves as Vice President of the Rocky Mountain Bioengineering Symposium, where he also co-chairs the student research competition.

His interdisciplinary work spans biomechanics of locomotion and postural control, neuromuscular and brain function, computational modeling of biological systems, and engineering design of sensors and medical technologies. He has contributed to numerous research publications and book chapters, holds multiple U.S. patents, and serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals, including Journal of Biomechanics, Gait & Posture, and IEEE Sensors Journal.

Dr. Pagnacco continues to participate in collaborative research initiatives, including studies within the CAPS® Research Network, with ongoing interests in advancing measurement, analysis, and application of human performance and neurological function.
