About

Jeffrey Kleim

Dr. Jeffrey A. Kleim is a neuroscientist and academic researcher with expertise in neural plasticity, motor learning, and neurorehabilitation. He has served as an Associate Professor and Associate Director within the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering at Arizona State University.

Dr. Kleim’s research focuses on understanding how the brain adapts to learning and injury, with particular emphasis on mechanisms of neural plasticity in both healthy and damaged systems. His work explores how the brain reorganizes itself in response to experience, as well as how these processes can be leveraged to improve recovery following neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson’s disease.

His laboratory has investigated how changes within the motor cortex support both skill acquisition and relearning after injury, contributing to the development of rehabilitation strategies aimed at optimizing functional recovery.

Dr. Kleim’s work reflects a continued focus on integrating neuroscience research with clinical application, particularly in the context of improving outcomes in neurorehabilitation and brain health.
