Josephine Pucci

Josephine Pucci is a former U.S. Women’s National Ice Hockey Team member and Olympic silver medalist whose experience with concussion and recovery has informed her work in brain health awareness and advocacy. She played collegiate hockey at Harvard University, where she served as team captain and was recognized for her performance on the ice .

During her athletic career, Pucci experienced multiple concussions, including a significant injury that temporarily halted her participation in both collegiate and international competition. This experience led to a period of recovery and ultimately influenced her interest in neuroscience, brain injury, and patient care .

Following her recovery, Pucci returned to competition and was a member of the U.S. team at the 2014 Winter Olympics, earning a silver medal. She later transitioned away from competitive athletics to focus on academic and professional pursuits related to brain health and medicine .

Pucci is also a co-founder of the Headway Foundation, an organization dedicated to concussion education, awareness, and support for individuals navigating recovery. Her work reflects a continued interest in improving understanding and management of concussion and post-concussion symptoms across athletic and general populations .
