Sanjay Kulkarni

Dr. Sanjay Kulkarni is a transplant surgeon and academic physician specializing in kidney transplantation and organ donation. He serves as Professor of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine and is Director of the Kidney Transplant Program at Yale University and Yale New Haven Hospital.

Dr. Kulkarni’s clinical work focuses on multi-organ transplantation, with particular emphasis on kidney transplantation and living donor programs. He also serves as Medical Director of the Center for Living Organ Donors, where he has contributed to the development of programs supporting donor care and long-term follow-up.

His work has been associated with one of the larger transplant programs in the region, including high volumes of living donor and kidney transplant procedures.

In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Kulkarni is involved in academic medicine, contributing to education, program development, and multidisciplinary collaboration in transplant surgery. His work reflects an ongoing focus on improving access to transplantation, advancing surgical care, and supporting patient outcomes in organ donation and transplant medicine.
